JODY LINTON
Born and raised in Hamilton, Jody moved to the Bay in 2002. With a strong background in photography as a teenager, the dark room was his safe space to explore - watching images magically appear in liquid under the amber light.
After obtaining a BMA, Jody’s natural instinct was to branch out into the advertising and marketing industry. From there Jody's growth excelled as it not only exposed him to a broad range of media from design and 2D animation, but also 3D animation where he found his strongest connection.
Establishing his own business in 2020, Jody now works as a Freelance 3D Generalist with a strong focus on Product Visualisation.
With over 20 years experience in the advertising and media industry, Jody is still finding new ways to grow, learn and expand his creativity in the world of Digital sculpting.
“The ability to manipulate polygons and sculpt like real clay has brought back memories of being in the darkroom, watching images dissolve and appear from the darkness. My art connects imaginary worlds grounded with modern themes. Exploring symbolic values and the fusion of primal ideas, science, humanity, duality - and the divine and sacred.”
PIXelated: "The Elementals"
In his first exhibition, Jody uses Digital Sculpting as a tool to explore the symbolic theme of the elements and embodying the power of nature - bold, subtle, beautiful and dangerous.
The Elementals are portrayed as divine female figures, imagining that they once walked this earth, they are Nature’s Guardians - fire, water, earth and air. Now relics, their remnants forged in time. They stand tall like totems, emerging through the shadows and into the light, in a place of hope.
